Life in the electronics industry
Mr. Chew in high school is excellent in character and learning,so get the opportunity to send Taiwan University without exam. At that time, most of his classmates preferred medicine,but he likes sports, music and other fields. He is passionate about life, and doctors have to face painful illnesses that are not their pleasure. He is also interested in physics,but after college graduates must go abroad in order to succeed. His mother is not happy at this, and can not afford a huge sum of money。Therefore, he chose to study electrical system. After graduation he was admitted to the Jiaotong University Institute. At that time, the introduction of computer and semiconductor technology is prevalent.Mr. Chew became Taiwan's earliest contact with a group of computer and semiconductor，After graduation he entered the establishment of foreign "Kaohsiung Electronics" work,and sent to the United States to study advanced technology. He returned to the formal start of the electronics industry's life science and technology development. Although he was attached in foreign companies during his tenure.But his heart has a great dream「The establishment of a company with foreign companies on an equal footing of large companies」. At this point there has been another change in his life, that is, the United States senior engineer Professor Shi Min. He returned to invite him and others to set up 「Universal Electronics」,manufacturing pagers, walkie-talkies, electronic computers and other electronic products, marketing countries. Mr. Lin Baili, Chairman of Quanta Corporation, praised Mr. Qiu as "Father of Taiwan Semiconductor". And then in the "Universal Electronics" peak period sold to American companies. And he set up a wholly-owned foreign trade companies and factories. Later, due to debt to sell the company, the biggest setback for his life. However, he encouraged by his virtuous wife and cheer. In 1980 he went to East Germany to help his government set up a semiconductor computer factory to get rich. At this point is his life in the direction of the development of electronic technology peak.
